Tehran - Iran's opposition leader Mir Hossein Moussavi has accused agents of the regime of sexual abuse in Tehran prisons, the opposition website Mowjcamp reported Tuesday.
"Those who have committed these crimes (sexual abuse) are agents of the regime," Moussavi said in a letter to moderate cleric Mehdi Karroubi.
"Does the rulership have no interest in knowing what these agents are doing to the people?" Moussavi added.
Karroubi, leader of the opposition party Eremad Melli, last week made sexual abuse charges against some political prisoners arrested and detained following protests over alleged fraud in the June 12 presidential election.
The Iranian government and parliament categorically denied the charges and even threatened Karroubi with legal consequences if he could not prove the rape charges. (dpa)
