UK’s largest commercial TV broadcast company, ITV has launches its ITV Player mobile application for devices powered by Google’s Android platform.

The ITV Player app will work on both Android based Smartphones, as well as tablets. The app is available free of cost from the Android Market. It will work on Android 2.2 and the newer versions.

The users will be able to access unlimited streaming over WiFi of ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4 on their Android tablets or smartphones. The standard search feature, search via channel, or even the program guide in the app will allow users to look for their favorite shows.

Robin Pembrooke, the Managing Director, ITV Online and On Demand mentioned. “I’m very excited to be launching our first ever ITV Player mobile app and genuinely believe that the simple design and high picture quality of this app is a leap forward in providing our customers with what they want to watch on the move.”

The company will also launch an iOS version of the app soon.
