Los Angeles  - The burial of Michael Jackson has been pushed back five days to September 3, a family spokesman said Friday.

The King of Pop was originally to have been buried in a private ceremony on his birthday, August 29, at Forest Lawn Cemetary near Los Angeles. Spokesman Ken Sunshine did not cite a reason for the delay.

Jackson died June 25 in Los Angeles at that age of 50, prompting an outpouring of emotion from distraught fans and an investigation into Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray, who is suspected of giving a highly dangerous anaesthetic, Propofol, to Jackson to help him sleep on the night before his untimely death.
