Jordan's royals to pay state visits to Morocco, Portugal Amman - Jordan's King Abdullah II and Queen Rania are to fly to Rabat on Sunday for a working visit to Morocco to be followed by a state visit to Portugal, the royal court announced Friday.

King Abdullah is due to have talks in Rabat with King Mohammed VI on latest developments in the region and efforts under way to unite Arab stances on various issues and push forward the Arab-Israeli peace process, a royal court statement said.

In Lisbon, the Jordanian head of state will have talks with Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva and Prime Minister Jose Socrates on "means of boosting bilateral ties particularly in the political, economic and trade spheres as well as Middle East peace efforts."

King Abdullah is also scheduled to meet with representatives of the Portuguese private sector to explain to them investment opportunities in Jordan, the statement said. (dpa)
