June may witness Swine Flu in various parts of the country

Swine-FluThe first week of June has witnessed nine deaths from swine flu across the country, declared by health ministry on Wednesday.

June is knocked by Swine flu in various parts of the country; one death has been reported from Karnataka whereas four have been reported from Maharashtra and Kerala.

Monsoon hit southern states of India in the last week of May, so because of late arrival of monsoon, these states have strongly viewed the rise in swine flu cases.

The health ministry officials said that most of the swine flu cases come from southern states because these states have higher levels of humidity.

Officials confirmed that in May 25-31, 30 cases of swine flu were listed but this week the number rises to 47. It was reported that 10 people died of swine flu in the month of May.

Health ministry official said that government is all prepared to fight against swine flu as monsoon is approaching and it is expected that number of cases will climb.

A ministry officials update on the entire issue, he said that all preparations are done, an indigenous vaccine has also been developed and government will carefully watch the whole scenario and had decided to launch three more vaccines by the end of August.

So far Delhi has reported 9696 swine flu cases but in the month of May only one person reported to attacked by swine flu , all the remaining cases belongs to southern states of the country i.e. Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Out of 47 cases reported, 22 were from Maharashtra while 19 were from Kerala, five from Tamil Nadu, and one each from Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir.

The maximum numbers of deaths recorded due to swine flu are from Maharashtra since April last year, making the number to 470.
