Karnataka meet expected to attract huge investments

Murugesh-NiraniIt seems that the upcoming investors meet in Karnataka has already become a hit. Even before it started, estimates show that it can generate nothing less than Rs. 6 lakh crore.

That is a good huge investment considering the fact that state is eyeing big players from almost all the sectors.

The investors' meet is to begin from tomorrow and the state government is going to sign MoUs during the two-day long meet. This information was given by the state minister for Large and Medium Enterprises, Murugesh Nirani.

Talking to the media he said that the state has already approved an investment of Rs. 4 lakh crore and more is going to come.

Rs. 2 lakh crore is going to be cleared by the state's High Level Committee on Industrial Projects. These have been planned for June 3.

Leading investors like Lafarge, Arcelor Mittal, Reliance, Wipro, Infosys, Shell et al are in line and awaiting the time when they can sign the deals, the minister said.

In the projects, while many are related to the IT sector there are ones like Tata Group, who are trying to tap the large infrastructure opportunity that the state provides.
