New Delhi, Oct 4 : Refusing to comment on social activist Anna Hazare''s views, Union Law and Justice Minister Salman Khurshid on Tuesday said he will not comment on anybody''s view about what would happen in the next election.
Talking to reporters here, Khurshid said: " I will not comment on anybody''s views about what is going to happen in the next elections. Every citizen is free to vote. We will only perform our duties."
Emphasising that the government will introduce many bills in Parliament, Khurshid said: "We will introduce many bills but not individual ones. We want opposition to support us·"
"We also expect the standing committee to support us· The people have selected us and they will re-elect us if they want to," he added.
Earlier, Hazare announced a three-day fast in Lucknow just before elections in Uttar Pradesh if Jan Lokapal Bill is not brought during Parliament''s Winter Session.
He said he would tour all five election-bound states and ask voters not to vote for Congress if bill is not passed by then.
He had staged an indefinite hunger strike against graft that he gave up on the 13th day when the government agreed to deliberate the issues raised by him and his forum vis-à-vis the passage and enactment of the Lokpal Bill, a suggestion that has received unprecedented nationwide backing. (ANI)
