LulzSec identifies man arrested by UK police Online hacking group, LulzSec has identified a 19 year old man arrested in the UK by Scotland Yard as Ryan Cleary but pointed out that he was operating a an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) server used by the group but was not a part of the group.

"Ryan Cleary is not part of LulzSec; we house one of our many legitimate chatrooms on his IRC server, but that's it," LulzSec said on Twitter on Tuesday. The group also described his arrest as ‘lame’ as he was only mildly associated with it.

Cleary was arrested in his house in Wickford, Essex by police and FBI agents. His family members say he used to spend most of his time on the computer and rarely went out of his room. He was arrested after a week of intelligence gathering by the investigators.

His mother, Rita said, “Ryan lives his life online. I thought he was playing computer games in his room. I can’t believe it. He rarely left the house.

LulzSec also published details on two hackers that leaked chat logs belonging to it and invited followers to log into an IRC server to discuss its Operation Anti-Security. LulzSec has claimed responsibility for hacks on U. S. Senate, the U. S. Central Intelligence Agency and companies such as Sony and the U. S. Public Broadcasting Service.

Experts say that security workers are aiming to catch members of LulzSec, which has been undetectable so far. However, server logs of the IRC server used by LulzSec may provide essential details about identifying the members of the group.
