Madonna and Ritchie deny reports of huge divorce deal

Madonna and Ritchie deny reports of huge divorce deal New York  - Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie issued a joint statement Wednesday denying reports that she will pay the British film director at least 76 million dollars as part of her divorce deal.

The statement came a day after Madonna's spokeswoman in New York issued a statement on the settlement that called it one of the largest divorce payouts ever.

But the former couple said that information was "inaccurate and misleading."

"We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest," said a joint statement from the pair.

"The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement. Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and well being of our children."

The couple still have to settle custody arrangements for their children Rocco, 8, and David, 3.

The couple were married for eight years and were granted a preliminary divorce last month. Madonna, 50, is worth an estimated 450 million dollars, while Ritchie's assets are valued at around 45 million dollars, according to reports. (dpa)
