Daniel Cowart, 21, of Bells will have a sentencing hearing July 8. Cowart could be sentenced to 10-75 years in prison, but if it appears U. S. District Judge J. Daniel Breen intends to give him more than 12-18 years, he can withdraw his plea, The Jackson Sun has reported.

A sentencing hearing also will be held April 15 for another defendant in the case, Paul Schlesselman of Helena-West Helena, Ark., who entered a plea agreement for a possible 10-year sentence in January.

The pair has been jailed since being arrested Oct. 22, 2008, and charged with planning a multi-state robbery and killing spree that was to culminate with them killing Obama, who was a presidential candidate at the time. (With Inputs from Agencies)
