‘Maoist ideologue, scientist held’

Maoist Maoists spokesman Koteshwar Rao, alias Kishanji, alleged on Tuesday that Bihar Police picked up Communist Party of India (Maoist) ideologue and an agriculture scientist, Ravi Sharma, along with his wife on October 10.

Sharma’s wife Anuradha was working with the State Bank of India in Hyderabad till recently, Kishanji said.

The police have denied the allegation.

A state police source, who refused to be identified, however, said although the couple had been detained for interrogation, their whereabouts had been kept secret for security reasons.
