Marwari & Kathiawadi horses catch the eye

Forty two stallions walked their way into the Dantiwada Agricultural University ground for a horse show which was held on Sunday for the All Gujarat Horse Breeders show.

A participant and horse breeder Ashish Amin said, "Though the number of horses turned up for the event was less but I am glad that they were of the best breeds. Smart and well trained Marwari and Kathiawadi horses from South Gujarat were showcased."

The event turned out to be a horse lovers dream come true with quality Equines (horses) displaying there talent for the 'Rewaal' race and dance competition.

Anish Gajjer, founding member, Equestrian Club of Gujarat said, "It was a tough competition as all the horses were of topmost quality. However, one horse had to win and it was 'Pankaj', a Marwadi stallion of Jalor, Rajasthan."

The event was well attended by horse breeders from Sabarkantha, Banaskantha, Mehsana, Patan and a few districts in Rajathan like Jalor, and Dungarpur. The show was judged by Danta Singh, Gajendra Posana and Ajit Singh Rao, a well known horse breeder and owner of 'Ali Baba' of Rajasthan. "I am so glad that we organised this show here as the horses showcased in this show were among the best. I am also happy that every competition went as per plan except the police squad performance. It was unfortunate that they couldn't make it for the event."
