Sadiq Batcha and Mahendra Nahata, the MD of Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited was questioned by CBI. The investigation bureau has suspected them in connection with 2G spectrum case probe. Mr. Nahata was questioned in regard to Datacom Services. CBI alleged Datacom as one of the beneficiaries of the 2G allocation. It was allotted to them at 2001 rates. Mr. Nahata was also very close to the former telecom minister A. Raja.

Mr. Nahata had sold 64% equity of Datacom to Videocon. The Videocon owned by Mr. Dhoots later launched Datacom as Videocon Telecommunications. Datacom Solution had Rs. one lakh authorized share capital. But at the time of auction, it had made a false claim of the Rs. 150 crore as paid-up capital and applied for 22 licenses. This has been informed by the Comptroller and Auditor General said in his report.

CBI also questioned Sadiq Batcha who is the promoter of Green House Promoters. It’s a Chennai based export house. CBI has alleged on Mr. Batcha to provide financial benefit to his firm and having imminence to former telecom minister. CBI has also raided at Batcha official premises last year.
