Men sense more ups and downs in the relationships

Men-VulnerableA new study reveals that men are more vulnerable to ups and downs of the relationships.

The study was conducted by Wake Forest Professor of Sociology Robin Simon, who had analyzed 1000 unmarried young adults aged between 18 and 23. He found that the men who have participated in the study are found to be more sensitive in the ups and downs of a romantic relationships then women.

Simon said that men get more disturbed in breakups although their way of presenting their stress may vary from women as they try to show their tough face but from inside their mental health disturbs more than women.

Simon also said that those non-marital relationships which are at the edge of adulthood made men more reactive to the ongoing relationship as compared to women.

This means that breakups of emotional and rocky relationships closely and strongly affect the mental health of men than women. This study challenges the old notion that women are more sensitive in romantic relations. In other words, one can say that the findings of the study contradicts that men are least effected by the ups and downs in their romantic relations.

Simon claimed that these findings are true because young men are more intimated with their romantic partners than anybody else whereas women are more likely to share close relationship with family and friends.

The findings have been published in the June issue of the Journal of Health and Social Behavior.
