Mexico, China agree to take up strategic dialogue

Beijing - China and Mexico announced Friday that they would establish a strategic dialogue as Mexican President Felipe Calderon visited Beijing, the official Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.

After Calderon held talks with his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, both countries signed an agreement on improving and protecting bilateral investment.

Calderon said Mexico would increase its exports to China while pushing measures that would boost mutual investment. Hu said his government would encourage investment in Mexican infrastructure.

Calderon began his four-day China visit Wednesday when he arrived in Shanghai before travelling to Beijing Thursday. (dpa)
