Micra registers close to 400 bookings

Micra registers close to 400 bookingsIt’s till almost a month left before the hatchback from the door of Nissan will make its entry in the Indian market inform of Micra but the company has already registered 400 bookings for the product.

In fact, the company has recently signed the bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor as its brand ambassador for the next three years.

Keeping mind that Nissan only has 11 dealerships across India as compared to the over 1800 outlets of Maruti, the Micra is expected to generate decent media coverage in the Indian market. Also, the company may have to plan promotions carefully as it has a small dealership base.

Experts are of a view that the Renault-Nissan alliance may have taken its own time in realising the potential of the Indian automobile market but it is now very committed and serious about the same. As the product is expected to be highly localised, it is believed that the company will be able to take its costs within the limits of the Indian consumer.

However, the network of 11 dealerships still stands as a hurdle for the success of the product in the Indian market and it is believed that the company should rather expand its dealership network to make its presence felt at a larger scale.
