Microsoft deal with ARM seals defiance with Intel

MicrosoftThe announcement at CES 2011 that Microsoft would deliver a full version of Windows 8 for the ARM architecture is tainted to be one of the most enterprising moments in CES 2011, one which had the potential of changing the course of events in the matter of technology market in case of releasing a substitute for the x86.

Microsoft offered a licensee for the ARM back in July 2010, soon after few months after Intel collaborated with Nokia to release its own operating system, Meego.

Back then, it was questioned that Microsoft would comprise of Intel, its nearest partner, seeks to break the status quo and now we answer the same.

At the moment, Microsoft has more edge when compared to Intel when it comes to develop a fully homogeneous ecosystem; after all, it is tainted to be the full Windows experience on an ARM processor or make use of the Linux on an Intel CPU.

It helps carve ways for Microsoft to develop its own chip and thus, walk on path of Apple who did the same with the Apple A4 processor. It is believed that enacting the same it would allow Microsoft to fine tune the processor for Windows, making it even faster and reducing time to market.

This is considered to be in early stages of 2014 when the Cortex A15 was released, while proffering the Microsoft a fully-fledged competitor to Intel in comprising of everything from smartphones to servers.
