Microsoft to offer live TV onto the XboxSoftware giant, Microsoft has announced a new feature for Xbox offering live TV to its millions of users around the world, at the Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3) event on Los Angeles on Monday.

The company will enter into partnerships with regional cable companies to offer live TV, indicating that the transmission will through cable and satellite companies and the users might have t sign up for a subscription service to use their console as a TV.

Mike Delman, vice president of global marketing at Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business group said that the company has already entered into a partnership with some companies in the international market, when asked about possible deals.

“It will be tied to either a satellite broadcast company or a cable company. So in international markets, you'll just have one provider. In the U. S., it will be bifurcated by region, by market,” he explained.
