Mobile payment facility for UK users

bill-pay-mobileSoon, people in UK will be able pay even their sandwich bill via mobile phone. Network operators have now came up with this unique service in UK. This has been planned to be rolled out soon in the European market.

It has also been claimed to be the first ever mobile payments service in UK. By this summer, the customers may avail the mobile payment service. The mobile operators have partnered with Barclaycard for this purpose.

Apart from mobile payment systems, the UK mobile users may get several more services by the 2012 Olympics. The London games have introduced the contact-less payments partnering Visa and Transport for London heavily involved in so-called Near Field Communication (NFC).

NFC is the main sponsor of this technology. Short range wireless technology is also included in this payment system.

In the year 2009 O2 has trialled the contact-less payments through mobile phones. Before that popular Oyster cards were used for instant payments in which commuters were used to make the payment. Moreover, it has been expected that by the time of Olympics, all the transactions, transport and tickets can be done using contact-less technology.
