Murray says ‘he’s not worthy of knighthood’

Andy-Murray.Sydney, Jan 1 : British tennis star Andy Murray has said he feels that he is not worthy of receiving Britain's prestigious knighthood award.

Murray, 25, seemed bemused by the UK media''s claim that he should have risen with fellow Scot, Tour de France victor Brad Wiggins, as a knight.

The tennis star said that one needs to do `a lot' for a long time to deserve an honour like that, the Age reports.

Murray said that he definitely needs to win a few more matches and have more tournaments to have a chance of getting that.

Not much might change if Murray earns a knighthood, but the rangy Scot admits his countdown to the Australian Open had after finally claiming his maiden grand slam on his fifth attempt, the report said. (ANI)
