My Character Is Not Based On Sonia Gandhi's Life, Says KatzEven as her character in her forthcoming flick 'Rajneeti' has evoked much inquisitiveness, Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif disregarded all talk of her role being based on life of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The actress said, "'I know my character is not based on Sonia Gandhi's life."

Becoming a part of India TV's popular show 'Aap Ki Adalat' last night, Katz asserted that her role in Jha's film was not based on Sonia Gandhi's life.

But, she accepted that Jha had given her a few videos of lectures by political leaders, which she followed up before playing the role.

Katrina, who appeared on the show along with her co-stars Ranbir Kapoor, Manoj Vajpayee, Arjun Rampal and director Prakash Jha, said, "The key was to observe the body language and the way they conducted themselves on stage. I took little inspiration from everyone and compose a new character of my own."

When asked whether she had any plan of joining politics, Katrina said, ''No, not at all. Not right now. I will concentrate on films. If I look at politics, that would be much, much, much later.''

Speaking on the show, Ranbir Kapoor denied that his role mirrored the life of Rahul Gandhi.

''I don't think my character is at all close to that of Rahul Gandhi,'' Ranbir said.

Asked why he undertook a travel in Mumbai's local train as Rahul Gandhi did, Ranbir said, ''What Rahul did was a great thing. He met common people and spoke to them. I had gone as part of the promotional strategy for Rajneeti to make people aware about the film's release.'' On his part, Director Prakash Jha too clarified that 'Rajneeti' had nothing to do with anybody in the Gandhi family.

Katrina also cleared that she was not part of the lovemaking scene.

'Rajneeti' is set to release worldwide on June 4. (With Inputs from Agencies)
