My govt is committed to promote & develop cricket: Modi

Narendra modiWith an aim to organize a plan to encourage cricket and enlarge required infrastructure for the sports in the state, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi visited the premises of Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) on Monday.

Modi has recently been appointed as the president of GCA.

The CM visited the Motera stadium in Ahmedabad and held discussions with former players, umpires and others vis-à-vis the condition of the sport in Gujarat.

It is learnt that Modi discussed a range of aspect like selection of players from district to state level, physical fitness, umpires, coaching, grounds and other infrastructure facilities.

Modi asked the former players to assist him identify with the problems that inundated the cricket in the state.

Modi asked former Ranji players of the state to come up with for the development of the game in Gujarat.

"Gujarat is committed to promote and develop cricket at the national level," said Modi.
