Naughty Dog took the stage at the E3 2011 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) press conference to showcase its ‘Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception’.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is set to be previewed by as many 45,000 retail buyers, enthusiasts and journalists at the mega event in downtown Los Angeles. The game needs good previews from the conference to attract a number of gamers.
A good review emerging from the conference or excitement created among the gaming community through its showcase could result in very positive demand for the game after its launch.
Just days before the scheduled event, the employees at Naughty Dog were shocked to discover that the demo meant for showcase at the event is broken. A broken and flawed demo could spell disaster for the game and its prospects of attracting gamers. Thus the team decided the game needs fixing and it needs it fast.
Designers, programmers and artists at the company halted their work on the final version and focused on sections that will be displayed flawlessly. "We have to make sure that the part of the game people at E3 see looks polished and finished, even though it might be propped up by bubble gum and toothpicks," said Evan Wells, co-president of Naughty Dog.
The missing aspects were restored to the demo before its scheduled showcase at the press conference. It is to seen if the game will be able to attract a number of gamers like its earlier versions.
