Netherlands have reached into the semifinal of the Hockey World Cup even after losing their last league match 1-2 against the South Korean at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Ronald Brouwer smashed first goal of the match for Netherlands in just 22 seconds of the start of the play. Nam Hyun-Woon scored the equalizer for Korea in the 31st minute while Seo Jung-Ho scored the second goal in the 45th minute.

Korea won the match but failed to qualify for the semifinals as they were needed to win the match with a difference of at least two goals to make into the last four.

Meanwhile, the defending champions Germany has also booked their berth in the semifinals after dumping New Zealand 5-2. Germany is now leading the Pool A with 11 points.

Netherlands will play against Australia in the semifinal while Germany will take on England in the other semifinal on Thursday.
