New team to play in IPL from HyderabadA new team basedin hydradab is set to play in the upcoming glamorous sporting event, the Indian Premier League edition 6, which is scheduled to be held in India from April 3 to May 26, 2013 amid much excitement among cricket fans in the country.

A total of nine teams will compete for the trophy at this year's tournament. The organisers of IPL had terminated Deccan Chargers, which was the winning team in 2009, after Kochi Tuskers Kerala for several reasons ranging from financial situation to irregularities. Deccan Chargers owners were not able to save the team even after repeated attempts at the Bombay High Court and Supreme Court of India.

The BCCI had conducted an auction for replacement of the team for the southern city of Hyderabad. Sun TV Network had won the bid on 25 October, 2012 and has floated the new tram with the name, Sunrisers Hyderabad. The new team is being headed by Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Tom Moody and VVS Laxman.

"There was a lot of planning before we went there. And we were really happy with the way it went for us. What we looked in the selection of the players was their attitude." said Laxman.

It includes popular players including Kumar Sangakkara, Cameron White, JP Duminy, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma and Dale Steyn in the team.
