Nippo Batteries registers 52% growth in Q4 net profit; Stock climbs 9%

NippoChennai-based Nippo Batteries has registered a growth of 52 per cent in its net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009 at Rs 5.28 crore.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 3.46 crore during the January-March quarter a year ago.

Further, the company has witnessed a jump of 12 per cent in its total income, which surged to Rs 63.20 crore during the March quarter of FY 2009, from Rs 56.25 crore of the same period a year ago.

For the financial year ended March 31, the company posted a net profit of Rs 16.03 crore, nominal increase compared to Rs 16.01 crore of FY'08.

Apart from announcement of results, the batteries maker has declared a dividend of 200 per cent or Rs 20 per share for the fiscal ended March 31, 2009.

On declaration of good results, the stock of the company closed on Friday with a gain of 9% at Rs 376.
