Here’s a shocker for those who want to visit Haj but are showing the symptoms of swine and seasonal flu.

In a landmark decision, the Haj committee of India has decided that people showing symptoms swine flu will not be permitted to go on Haj this year.

A note was issued in this regard by the committee on Friday for all those selected for 40 -day pilgrimage to Mecca this November.

The Haj Committee has asked all pilgrims to create inoculation certificate showing that none of them is suffering from seasonal and swine flu.

Moreover, all pilgrims have been asked to produce similar certificate two weeks before getting visa for Haj.

Apart from this, the group has also advised pregnant women not to go on Haj this year.

However, the Mayawati-led Uttar Pradesh government said the selection of Haj pilgrims will be purely on lottery basis and age will not be a bar in the shortlisting process.

Speaking on this, State Haj minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui said: “The lucky ones whose names have been selected in the lottery can go for Haj pilgrimage.”
