While Mahindra has made its decision to disband the Mahindra United Club from taking part in the next season, officials from the AIFF says that they haven't received any official communication from Mahindra so far and will act accordingly once the authorities will receive a conformation from the company.

It is believed that the executive committee meeting that will take place on Friday will primarily discuss two issues, namely, the resignation of chief national coach Bob Houghton and the Mahindra issue.

However, the AIFF has said that it has no power to implement any legal penalty to Mahindra on this as the regulatory clauses don't allow it to do so.

The sources confirm that AIFF will persuade Mahindra United to continue but sources in Mahindra believe that the company is in no mood to continue with the league.

Sources confirm that the mandarins of the AIFF were aware of this development quite a while back but did minor changes to control the damage and hence be able to keep the flag flying high. In fact, the things have only been worse over the course of time.
