Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made it clear that there is no danger of a swine flu epidemic in the state.

Speaking with the media persons, Chouhan said: "No swine flu case had been reported from anywhere in the state so far."

He assured that all precautionary measures were being taken by the health authorities in the state.

With a view to deal with the flu, the government has set up a state-level control room (0755-2553528) in Bhopal's Jai Prakash Hospital.

Apart from this, the CM said that all the guidelines on the disease have been sent to all the chief district medical officers (CDMOs), medical colleges and hospital authorities in the State by the Health Department.

Chouhan also have asked his officials to come up with an awareness campaign through newspapers and TV channels on the symptoms of the disease and issue guidelines in this regard.

Though 712 cases of swine flu have been detected in the country, in Madhya Pradesh there is no confirmed case as yet. Notably, on August 3, a 14 year old school girl died of swine flu in neighboring state, Maharashtra.
