Follow these rules, or else…

Accidents and injuries seem to have become a part and parcel of reality shows (see box). Keeping this in mind, participants of Zee TV's reality show Dance India Dance have been asked to follow stringent rules. The channel wants to minimise injuries on the sets.

A unit member says, "Being a part of a dance reality show, accidents and minor injuries are bound to happen. So the channel has set up guidelines to avoid unhealthy competition and protect contestants from injuries."

The unit member adds, "The participants have to wear elbow and knee caps during rehearsals and have to go through warm-up sessions before starting their practice sessions. Consumption of alcohol is banned and a dietician will be present with the contestants always. The channel has appointed a physiotherapist and doctor on the sets and there is an ambulance on call for immediate attention."

Apart from this, a physical trainer has also been hired to bring in more discipline to their daily schedules.

Terrence Lewis, a judge on the show says, "The contestants have to go through so much pressure. A proper schedule was required and we are grateful to the channel for the same. Since most of the contestants are from small towns, they are unaware about the precautions one needs to take while dancing. It's good to see them being trained in a better way."
