Ohio, US  - A computer-animated dream by Dutch designer Ugur Sahin is to become reality in the shape of the USD Corvette Z03 with the US tuning firm Mallett in Ohio to build 100 units based on the Corvette C6.

Sahin's design, based on the classic lines of the Corvette C3, will be slightly modified with sharper edges around the headlights, a more streamlined front spoiler and larger air intakes - necessary because of the massive power package.

The USD Corvette Z03 will be offered with a 7-litre LS7-Corvette engine, 700 hp Compressor and 999 hp Biturbo version.

The top-end engine catapults the Z03 from zero to 100 km/h in three seconds with a top speed of 354 km/h.

Mallett, which specialises in Corvette tune-ups, is offering to convert the C6 or Z06 into a USD Corvette Z03 for about 70,000 dollars including the bodywork. The engine upgrade to 700 hp costs another 33,000 dollars while the 999 hp version will set you back with another 36,000 dollars. (dpa)
