Proper Love And Care Keep Your Baby Away From Developing Poor Social Skills
Newborn babies need food to grow, but they also need proper affection. Love actually makes an infant grow physically.
A child health expert has warned that it’s important for parents to give proper attention to their kids as they are like flowers that need to be nurtured with proper love and care.
However, babies who do not get proper care during their first year are at great risk of having poor brain growth and social skills.
Dr. Cheryl Power, a clinical psychologist, said that babies born to mothers with mental health troubles were frequently at high risk as health experts often focus on the problems of the mother only instead of concentrating on the mother-baby link.
She warned due to this a baby’s needs can be disregarded, which in turn, damage them later.
Dr. Power said, “The infant needs to be exposed to stimulation and social interaction to enable their brains to develop. Mothers with mental health difficulties are compromised in how they are able to provide stimulation and how they are able to interact with infants.”
“That will influence how a baby’s brain develops,” she added.
Dr. Power also said that it is compulsory to consider the parenting task of mothers with mental health problems in addition to their individual needs.
“If the mother can be successful in the social role of being a parent they are more likely to recover from their mental health difficulties and that’s going to have a major impact on the development of the infant,” Dr. Power said.
