Centre To Provide Liberal Financial Assistance To J&K: Azad
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad stated that the centre government will provide liberal financial help to Jammu and Kashmir for its all ongoing schemes, particularly in the health segment.
Mr. Azad also said that the special focus will be on making benefits of the National Rural Health Mission available to remote areas.
At the meeting organised by state Congress leaders to felicitate him on his induction in the Union Cabinet, he said, “The Centre is committed to provide basic amenities particularly healthcare, road connectivity, drinking water and telecommunication to the people of the state.”
Hopeful to provide all required support to the newly carved Ramban district to turn out to be an independent administrative unit, Azad stated that the decision to make eight new districts in J&K was taken during his tenure to guarantee reasonable growth.
At a meeting at Dumhall, 80 kms from here, in Anantnag district on Monday, Mr. Azad said that primary as well as secondary health services and needed infrastructure would be upgraded on modern lines in all the regions of the state.
On the health infrastructure created in the state during his tenure, the former CM said, "Of the 30 district and sub-district hospitals taken on board for execution, 11 were completed during the first year of his chief ministership and the remaining would be completed by the end of this year."
On possible measures to improve the economic system of the region, Azad asked the Minister for Tourism and Culture to compose a tourism development authority, Banihal and include the area on the tourism map.
While giving thanks to the people of the district for their whole-hearted support in the Lok Sabha elections, Azad said he is aware of their troubles and guaranteed them of doing his maximum to meet their expectations.
