Eight killed in road accident in northern Philippines
Manila - Eight people were killed Saturday when a cargo truck crashed on a highway in the northern Philippines, a city police officer said.
Two more people were injured in the accident that occurred in the village of Tabuk in San Jose City, 130 kilometres north of Manila, according to police officer Vladimir Caraciquet.
Caraciquet said all the victims were riding the ill-fated truck, which was loaded with 400 sacks of rice when the accident occurred.
Investigators said the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve causing it to skid and turn over. (dpa)
