The sixty four dollar question …is iPad legal?
Let’s face it, the answer is No. One can fascinate, yearn for but can’t have it. As the iPad fails to pass the rules of FCC, Federal Communications Commission-A governing agency which ensures that the electronic device doesn’t interfere with other wireless equipments operating in the spectrum’s vicinity which is allocated for something else, or does not emit much radiation into people using them.
As Apple states “certain features and applications are not available in all areas. Application availability and pricing are subject to change. This device has not yet been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained,” an honest acknowledgement of the mistake.
Apparently the question arises here is, why this public stunt is repeated (occurred for iPhone –got FCC rights after one month) time and again with Apple only? The answer seems to be keep the government agency at bay i.e., out of the advance loop. Well its almost uncertain to expect immediate release of iPads but what we expect is a compact iPad i.e., with all apps in place.
