Christian militia group in Michigan offered help to a suspected bomb maker to break out of prisonAccording to official reports, members of a Christian militia group in Michigan allegedly offered to help a suspected bomb maker break out of prison.

The Detroit News reported on Sunday that Federal prosecutors say members of the Hutaree militia visited William Priest, an Adrian, Mich., gun dealer, and offered to break his son out of Wayne County Jail.

Jason Priest was sentenced in March to nine years in prison on a felony charge of possession of firearms, the News said, and also had a prior conviction for possessing explosives with intent to terrorize.

The News further said that when agents of the U. S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives began examining records of Walter Priest's gun sales in 2008, it prompted outraged Internet postings from members of the Hutaree, the militia accused of plotting to kill police officers with homemade explosives.

Member David Stone Sr. allegedly said in an e-mail, "Looks like the ATF enforcers are looking for a reason to start a firefight. And we will answer the call."

It was also alleged by the prosecutors that stone was one of the Hutaree members who visited Priest with the offer of breaking the younger Priest from jail.

Prosecutors also say that William Priest refused the offer. (With Inputs from Agencies)
