Ministers can run sports bodies- Says GovernmentThe Union government has announced that now the ministers can cur the sports bodies. There is nothing wrong for the ministers to hold their positions in the sports bodies.

The government has also clarified the code of conduct for ministers. There has been a filing on this issue at the Bombay High Court and the Center has informed this while it was making its stand in front of the court.

The government has said that there is no conflict of interest in such cases; the Cabinet ministers can hold their positions in these organizations as well.

The case was filed by Shiv Sena MLA Subhash Desai. Mr. Desai has accused the government of not implementing tax on the Indian Premier League matches as per the decision taken in the month of January this year. The division bench of Justices PB Majmudar and RM Savant was hearing the Mr. Desai's PIL.

Later additional Solicitor General Darais Khambatta has informed that there are no such things in the code of conduct for the ministers which can debar them from their positions in the sports organizations.
