FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL) Thursday expressed that it is combining Godrej Household Products Ltd. (GHPL) with itself, creating it one of the major players in the personal care and household insecticides section.

No shares shall be released post-merger as GHPL is a wholly-owned part of the corporation, the company stated in a regulatory filing.

GHPL, which was earlier known as Godrej Sara Lee, had lately obtained 51 % stake of the business by its foreign partner Sara Lee.

GCPL chairman Adi Godrej expressed that GCPL is right now the biggest home-grown domestic and personal care Corporation in India and the 2nd largest household insecticides business in Asia (excluding Japan). The unification of both offers us with a scale platform to speed up our growth and profit course.

The corporation stated that its sitting members have also accepted merging its South African unit, Kinky Group, with one more firm located in the same nation, Rapidol Ltd. Kinky and Rapidol manufacture hair care products.
