Choice Hotels planning to construct more hotels in India
International mid-scale hospitality chain Choice Hotels is planning to open 20-30 hotels in the country every year over the next three years of time. The rapid communications development in India has made the company to come up with such ideas. This has been stated by a top company official in a recent interview.
There have been the rumors that at present the US-based firm operates 28 hotels in the country through the contract route. It has been operating through its wholly-owned subsidiary Choice Hotels India (CHI).
Choice Hotels India CEO, Mr. Vilas Pawar has told PTI that they are targeting to open 20-30 hotels in India per year. They have a motto to construct ever more hotels in coming 2-3 years particularly in India.
In this year, 2011 they have planned to open 14 hotels mainly in Tier II cities. The constructions of these hotels are in progress.
In India there has been the construction of 28 hotels across five brands such as Sleep pub, Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion and Cambria. They have different offers ranging from Rs2, 000-7,000 per night depending on the location.
