Samsung's Series 5 Chromebooks gets favorable reviews The new Chromebook, manufactured by the South Korean Electronics giant, Samsung has received several favorable reviews with praises for its attractive design and the fast web based platform, on which it runs.

Samsung Series 5 Chromebook runs on the web based Chrome OS and features a sleek rounded design. The 12.1-inch netbook is powered by an Intel Atom N570 dual-core CPU, has 2GB of RAM, and a 16GB solid state drive.

The Series 5 Chromebook has a HD webcam, headset/mic jack, a USB port and a proprietary port for a VGA dongle hidden behind a plastic made cover while another USB port and a SIM card slot is placed behind another plastic cover. The device also has a SD card reader in the front.

Google claims that Chromebooks can go from cold off to usable in about 12 seconds while resuming the device from sleep takes only upto two seconds. Experts say that the Google is brave to have embarked upon such an experiment and it remains to be seen how well the market received the new Chromebook, which many claim will be the first true netbook in the market.

Google had released Chromebooks pitch in May at Google I/O and announced that Samsung and Acer will offer notebooks based on the Chrome operating system starting June 15 through Amazon. com and Best Buy online.
