GAME and GameStation to begin sale of PS3 digital content in stores
Videogames retailer GAME and GameStation have entered into deals with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, which will allow the retailers to sell downloadable games, PlayStation Plus Subscriptions and add-ons in stores.
Under the deal, GAME will roll-out the new scheme to 42 of its stores across the U. K. GAME is planning to make the digital content available in 620 stores across the country by the end of September this year.
Ian Shepherd, GAME Group CEO said “This is a significant step forward in our digital strategy. For the first time, gamers will be able to browse a wide range of digital titles for the PlayStation Network in our stores, alongside a variety of other digital and physical products.”
He also said that the new medium will allow users to get more advice and have more controls over their purchases. He added that the partnership allows the company to offer ‘unbeatable range and great value across all the gaming channels’.
