Infosys dissolves executive council, forms new 9-member team
Software services provider Infosys has announced its decision to dissolve its executive council and create a new decision taking body in its place.
In a notice to the U. S. SEC, Infosys said that its thirty-member executive council would come to an end on April 1, and a nine-member body would take effect on the same day.
Announcing the imminent change, the company said, "As reported previously by the company, the executive council will be dissolved effective April 1, 2014. Pursuant to this, effective April 1, 2014, the company will have nine executive officers."
The new decision-making body will be comprised of co-founder, executive chairman NR Narayana Murthy, co-founder, executive vice-chairman S. Gopalakrishnan, co-founder & CEO S. D. Shibulal, CFO Rajiv Bansal, chief risk officer Parvatheesam K, senior vice-president Srikantan Moorthy, and board members Srinath Batni, Pravin Rao and BG Srinivas.
The latest development marks another round of management restructuring at Infosys. In October 2013, the software giant had announced the expansion of the soon-to-be disbanded executive council.
Infosys has witnessed several major changes in its management as a number of senior level executive exited over the past nine months ever since the Murthy as the company's executive chairman. Most recently, Chandrashekar Kakal, senior vice president & member of the executive council, quit without giving any specific reason for his surprise departure.
