Rick Santorum thinks Pope should focus on ‘Theology and Morality’ than Climate Change

It seems former US senator Rick Santorum is not much impressed with the comments of Pope on climate change. May be that is why he said on Sunday that 'there are more pressing problem' than climate change for the pope to address.

In fact, the Republican presidential hopeful has even told that it would be better if the Pope leaves this topic of science for scientists and focuses on 'theology and morality'. Santorum added, "The church has gotten it wrong a few times on science, and I think that we probably are better off leaving science to the scientists".

In an interview with Fox News, he even questioned the Pope's moral authority' when it comes to discuss climate change. Santorum said that the Pope can talk on any issue. He just wanted to ask for what purposes the pope should be using moral authority for.

Fox News host Chris Wallace argued that if pope is not scientist, though he is having a degree in chemistry, then the question that arises is should you be talking about the issue. To this, Santorum said that being a politician they have to make public policy with regard to the environmental policy.

He said whether or not politicians like, but they have to make decisions as they directly affect American workers and population. Santorum said that no scientist in the right mind would have ever said that the science is settled. And, this is the thing that is affecting Santorum a lot, which is the idea of science being settled.
