Nokia adds five new patent complaints to its prolonged distrust of Apple

Nokia adds five new patent complaints to its prolonged distrust of AppleIt has been revealed by court papers that Nokia has added five new patent complaints to its prolonged distrust of U. S. technology giant Apple.

Computerworld reported on Friday that Nokia now claims Apple violated five Nokia patents for technologies used in the iPad.

The five patents are separate from 17 other patent complaints Nokia has already charged Apple with violating in earlier lawsuits.

It was further reported that the legal wrangling has gone both ways. Nokia charged Apple with 10 patent violations in October 2009. Two months later, Apple came back with a 13-patent lawsuit against Nokia.

As has been reported, the rivals have also extended their legal dispute by filing complaints with the U. S. International Trade Commission, which is investigating the allegations.

Nokia said in a statement that the complaint filed in a federal court in Wisconsin involves "technologies for enhanced speech and data transmission, using positioning data in applications and innovations in antenna configurations that improve performance and save space." (With Inputs from Agencies)
