In a recent launch which brings a new brand of smartphones to the Tanzanian market, Vodacom and Nokia jointly unveiled the latest Nokia handsets - the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820 - in the country; unfolding an opportunity for Tanzania's mobile phone users to upgrade their devices.

The unveiling of the two hi-tech LTE-capable Nokia smartphones in Tanzania comes at a time when Vodacom has completed the laying out of its 3G network across the country, and its 4G network in Dar es Salaam.

At the event marking the launch of Nokia's Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in Tanzania, Mgopelinyi Kiwanga - the Head of Devices and Acquisition at Vodacom - said that Vodacom will continue its efforts in the direction of ensuring improved connectivity for users, by keeping pace with the speed at which technological advancements are being made in the Tanzanian market.

Highlighting the fact that the newly-unveiled Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 handsets "come handy with 32GB storage and 1GB RAM processor capacities," Kiwanga said that both the new handsets from Nokia boast "special capabilities which enable them to operate at the latest standards including design, applications, video and photo quality, high-speed internet connectivity."
