North American and Middle East Airlines performing Best

At the aviation body International Air Transport Association (IATA)'s annual meet in Miami Beach, Florida, it was unveiled that North America is at the top in terms of profits, but on the other hand, much of the world struggles.

Tony Tyler, director general of the IATA, was of the view that the airlines are expected to make $29.3 billion in collective profit in 2015. As per earlier projections, year-end-profit was estimated to be of $25 billion.

He affirmed that the airlines are making around $8.27 per passenger. There is no denying that reduction in prices of oil has helped improving the condition of the airline industry. But complete gain cannot be received owing to the increasing value of the US dollar.

Tyler said that this year, they are expecting to the airlines to fill 80.2% of their seats. It shall however, be noted that industry performances are not same, as North American and Middle East airlines have been performing the best.

On the other hand, European, Asia-Pacific, African and Latin American carriers are performing below average. Airlines have been facing a lot of problems, including disputes with governments, lack of cost-efficient infrastructure need to meet demand.

Countries also are facing problems, which is contributing to the problem. Tyler said that though there have been many high-profile cases, flying has never been safer.
