Leading telecom company, Airtel is planning to sell its 3G iphone on monthly installment basis. The company had launched much hyped iPhone last month. Its price was fixed at Rs 31,000 which is quite high for middle income families.

The company is planning to tie up with leading banks to offer easy finance. The company is expected to offer service to all VISA cardholders of ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, SBI Cards and Citibank. The Chief Marketing Officer, (Mobile Services) Bharti Airtel, Mr. Sanjay Gupta said that the company is planning to provide the installment facility to the customers in partnership with VISA. The company would design easy installment options. He hoped that the current move of company will help to expand its market in India.

The iPhone can be availed at Rs 2,583 a month in 12 instalments from the credit card of ICICI bank. SBI card holder can get iPhone for Rs 1,654 a month in 24 installments. It’s interesting to mention that both Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar has sold only less that 1500 iphones since its launch.
