National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) envisages to install two solar power facilities of 50 Mw each in Gujarat. At the beginning, the company will establish a solar power generation capacity of 100 Mw in the state, which may go up to 300 Mw at a later phase.

Functionaries of NTPC stated in a communiqué that the proposed plants will be located in Kutch and Banaskantha districts.

Gujarat government has already granted approval to National Thermal Power Corporation’s 50 Mw solar thermal power units.

In a separate release, the company has informed that the plants will entail a total investment of approximately Rs 20 billion.
