The number of dengue cases will soon touch 1000 mark as the total number of dengue cases is now just one short. There has been a surge in number of dengue fever cases within last few days. There have been nearly 370 cases of dengue in the past 11 days.

With each day, the number of dengue cases is increasing. Seven fresh cases of dengue were reported on Sunday.  

A senior official said, “"With seven fresh positive cases of dengue, the total has reached 999. There are 13 cases in which the infection has been contracted from outside Delhi."

There have been two dengue deaths till now. One was of a nine-year-old and other was of a 15-year-old boy. Officials are hopeful that with the onset of winter, there will be a fall in number of dengue cases. It is hoped that fall in temperature will help in checking breeding of Aedes mosquitoes.  

However, the government authorities are doing every possible effort to reduce the increasing number of dengue cases. Special taskforces have been constituted to inspect the areas of water logging.
