Oncor fighting full strength to Restoring Power

Oncor fighting full strength to Restoring PowerAfter of a massive winter storm in Dallas/Fort Worth an estimated 5,000 Oncor workers, contractors and additional support crews are working to restore power today. About 2,500

supplemental workers from Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri and Louisiana began arriving around noon today to assist 2,500 Oncor employees and contractors working to restore power.

Jim Greer, Senior Vice President Asset Management and Engineering said, "With the help of the personnel arriving from around Texas and other states, our goal is to work around the clock to

restore power in Dallas/Fort Worth. Given the magnitude and unique nature of this event, it's difficult to predict a time when everyone will have power."

The winter storm that set a new 24-hour snowfall record at 12.5 inches in 24 hours and Dallas/Fort Worth is still digging out from it. Weakened tree limbs continue to fall under the weight of

the wet snow, taking power lines down with them, even though the storm moved out of the area early this morning. With temperatures hovering around freezing, roads are slick, icy and

difficult to navigate tonight, hampering restoration efforts.

Greer further added," We hope customers will help us as we work as quickly and safely as possible to restore electric service. The public can assist us by reporting power outages immediately

and turning on porch lights to signal our crews that power is restored in your area."
